Sound card and speakers
Choosing sound card and speakers allow you to use your computer to play music, listen to movie sound, and more.
Just like the other hardware we have covered there is an almost endless amount of choices to go with here.
And once again the answer to the question revolves around your budget, the motherboard and your personal preferences of course.
The quickest least expensive option is to go with the onboard (integrated solution). The onboard devices usually hold up pretty good compared to the other options.
When choosing sound card and speakers, have in mind that the sound card basically just sends a signal to the speakers and they do all the work anyway. You’ll want to spend more money on your speakers, and if you have the budget try to find a set of speakers with a subwoofer.
The name brand sound cards on the market today do have some really good features such as Dolby 5.1 surround and advanced sound mixing options.
Keep in mind that selecting the Dolby 5.1 and a good set of speakers to go with it may put some strain on your budget. Do not do this unless the computer is built for your music-maniac grandchild.

I just get a good quality stereo line-out jack and plug my computer right into my stereo. Speaker problem solved.
